Hello! I'm Aletha (they/them). I am a GIS specialist and cartographer in the Department of Geography at Dartmouth College.
My path to geography has been quite nonlinear. After receiving a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Roger Williams University, I did trail work and environmental education in AmeriCorps and taught art, technology, and early childhood classes with Denver Public Schools.
I earned a Master of Landscape Architecture and GIS certificate from the University of Colorado Denver in 2022, where I researched contested landscapes, participatory design, and play as a form of resistance.
These diverse experiences drew me to geography as an interdisciplinary field where my interests intersect.
I live in the small town of Thetford, Vermont where I enjoy experimenting with all forms of art (currently fiber arts, oil painting, and collage).
I also like to play music, frolick outdoors, and cater to the every whim of my wretched and beloved hairless guinea pig, Percival Pig.
