I have been working with the Rural Rivers research team and social practice artist Paula Frisch to develop a series of quilt mapping workshops at Dartmouth College, West Hartford, VT, and Ludlow, VT with support from Dartmouth's Hopkins Center Arts Integration Grant.

Quilt mapping is a form of participatory mapping that brings community members together to share stories, ideas, and emotions while contributing to a collaborative quilt. As a map, the quilt can be "read" to understand memories, sensory experiences, and emotions around flooding disasters, as well as critical spatial information about vulnerability and mutual aid. As a form of participatory art, it supports community healing from trauma and has therapeutic benefits.
